What it's like working with me

Below you will find out more about how I work with my students and what to expect.
I have also included a more detailed list of math and science classes I can tutor.

Tutoring rates: $60/hr for high school students, $80/hr for college students.

Every student, every subject, and all learning styles are different. Accordingly, I adjust my tutoring style to what works for the student. I believe that learning is not just about getting good grades, getting into a good school, and getting a good job, but is critical in developing a life-long growth mindset for overall success and happiness.

In our first session together, I like to get to know the student so that they feel more comfortable working with me. We go over the subjects/materials where the students needs extra instruction or review. I make sure that we set goals and a basic outline of what we will work on during our time together.

During our second session, we start to dive into the content. If there are any gaps in knowledge we need to cover, I am happy to start where they are so that the student always feels like they are on top of things. I continually evaluate how well the student is grasping the material and adjust accordingly. Learning is fun and I do my best to impart that joy to my students.

For tutoring high school and college/university students, I prefer meeting in a quiet, public location like a library where there will be minimal distractions.

I look forward to meeting you and your student!
